Team Manager Requirements

USA Hockey team manager requirements are listed below. For questions regarding placement on your official USA Hockey roster, please contact Vicki Lowndes, Registrar.


1. USA Hockey Registration

Required every season.

Register as a team manager with USA Hockey. You must register annually.


2. Background Screening

Required every two seasons.

Background screening must be completed every two (2) seasons.


3. Safe Sport Training

Required every season.

USA Hockey Safe Sport Program is an online training/education that is available to help our members become aware of the information necessary to help prevent abuse from occurring in our sport. Coaches, officials, players, employees and volunteers are entitled to take the training at no cost. 

Once you have completed the Core Safe Sport Course, there will be a Refresher Course available for individuals who have previously completed the core Safe Sport course and need to recertify. Users completing the Safe Sport refresher course will be certified for an additional season.

Safe Sport Training and Refresher Training are each valid for twelve (12) months.

For the 2025-26 Season: As part of USA Hockey's continued effort to create a safe playing environment for all participants, those officials who are a 2008 Birth Year or older are required to complete the online U.S. Center for SafeSport education program.
